Moving from table to table

Postby AgeOfEgos » Sun Mar 29, 2009 6:39 am

Anyone with experience tell me how much room we have at each table (for both the 40k Championship and Team Tourney)? We will have display boards that are the size of large picture frames for the Championships...and wondered if we will need to bring a case for our minis and pack each time...or simply throw them on the display board and move to another table. Thanks.

Generally people move from table to table on trays or display boards. Aisles are generally 6' wide. There is generally a break or lunchbreak before each game starts - we try to get the table assignments up as close to the start of that break as possible to allow a good 20+ minutes for people to move their armies.

Display boards FTW!

After my first GT in 2001, I vowed never to do the “pack and unpack everything in my cases between games” thing at a tournament ever again.

It can get to be a little bit of a traffic jam, but as long as you’re polite and cautious, moving armies on boards between rounds works very well. Remember also that moving up an aisle facing the tables, with your army held over the table surface, both maximizes space for moving through the aisle and means that your models fall a shorter distance and don’t get stepped on if you do happen to get bumped.

Some people put magnets on their bases and use a metal display tray. Works awesome trying to manuever your army thru some XXXL's! :P
